About Our Puppies

Breeding with Long-Term Health

At Stillwaters Heritage Farm, our Scotch Collie puppies are bred with the long view in mind. Each litter is planned intentionally, with careful attention given to health, temperament, and the long-term soundness of the breed.

Parent dogs are genetically tested through Embark and/or GenSol, depending on the individual dog and lineage. Testing is used to inform breeding decisions, manage risk, and protect the long-term health of the puppies we produce.

Results for parent dogs are available upon request for families who wish to review them.

Involvement in OTSCA Breed Preservation

Stillwaters Heritage Farm is an active breeder member of the Old-Time Scotch Collie Association (OTSCA) and a Foundation member supporting its long-term preservation work.

Our involvement with OTSCA reflects a commitment to transparency, accountability, and responsible stewardship of the Old-Time Scotch Collie. Participation in a breed organization provides structure, shared knowledge, and an external framework that supports ethical breeding practices and long-term genetic health.

We believe that preserving a functional heritage breed requires collaboration, documentation, and engagement beyond any single kennel. Our work within the OTSCA community is one part of a broader effort to ensure these dogs remain sound, capable, and true to their historical purpose.

A Five-Year Health Guarantee

We stand behind our breeding program with a five-year health guarantee.

This guarantee reflects confidence in our selection process, genetic screening, and breeding practices. While no breeder can eliminate all risk, we believe responsibility does not end when a puppy leaves the farm. Our guarantee is designed to provide families with clarity, accountability, and peace of mind as they raise their dog.

A copy of our Health Guarantee is available for you to review before making a commitment.

Early Development and Neurological Stimulation

Early development matters.

Our puppies receive Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) during the appropriate developmental window. This is an important element in raising puppies that are capable of handling real life — changes in environment, new situations, and the natural challenges that come with working and family settings.

Veterinary Care Before Placement

Before placement, each puppy receives:

  • A veterinary health check
  • First age-appropriate vaccinations
  • Routine deworming
  • Health records provided to the new family

We believe preventative care and clear documentation are part of responsible breeding and an important foundation for the puppy’s transition into its new home.

Next Steps

The Information on current and upcoming litters can be found on our Litters page. Families interested in our breeding program are encouraged to review our approach and reach out with thoughtful questions.

We are always happy to speak with prospective homes who value transparency, responsibility, and long-term commitment in a breeding program.
