About Stillwaters Heritage Farm
About our family....
Hello! Welcome to Stillwaters Heritage Farm! I’m Angela Linzey, happily married to Jeremy for over 30 years. Our family went from a neighborhood in the suburbs to a small homestead about 18 years ago. We’ve had sheep, goats, milk cows. chickens and the proverbial barn cat, but it was when a friend of ours introduced us to the Old-Time Scotch Collie that our farm was complete! (Thank you, Darren and Cara!)
Our First Scotch Collie, Copper
“Copper” proved to be calm and loyal, super intelligent, and a great companion for our five curious sons! He caught on quickly to where our ornery milk cow was supposed to be and would put her back in her place by himself with just a call out the back door, “Copper, the cow’s out!” When it came time to load up our free-range chickens to take them to the local auction, we were surprised to find that Copper would catch and gently pin the chickens for us to come and get them! Wow! I could write a book entitled, Homesteading Made Easy with the Right Dog! (Okay, Easier!) Do you want to keep deer, coons, and moles out of your garden? How about the fox, snakes or skunks out of the henhouse? Then you need a Scotch Collie!
Why Do We Breed Scotch Collies?
I never would have guessed that I would become a breeder, but having experienced Copper’s intuitiveness and natural off-switch for which the Old-Time Scotch Collies are known, their “Energy-on-Tap” as one person described it, and the many ways he helped on our little farm, a desire grew in me to give others the same opportunity that we had: to have their very own Old-Time Scotch Collie!
Scotch Collies, A Friend For Life
Whether you want a hiking buddy or dependable service dog, faithful farmhand and beloved family pet, you will find our Scotch Collies very adaptable to you, at home or on the homestead!
